Budget
Quantities come from the model. Add unit prices, price analyses and adjustments to get a budget for each option.
Quantities from the model
Walls, floors, equipment and other elements create budget items automatically. Items are grouped by type and material. Changing the model updates the quantities.
Categories and manual items
Add a category to group items. Add a manual item for work that is not in the model. Manual items do not change when the model changes.
Unit price
An item uses one of three pricing methods. A missing price is not zero: items without a price show a warning.
| Method | What it does |
|---|---|
| Direct unit price | Price per unit times the item quantity. Changing the quantity changes the amount. |
| Price analysis | Unit price built from resources: materials, labor, equipment and others, with consumption per unit. |
| Fixed total | A total for the item. It does not change when the quantity changes. |
Price analysis
Add one resource per line. For each resource set its name, unit, consumption per unit and price. The unit price is the sum of the resources.
Adjustments and totals
An adjustment adds a percentage over the subtotal of all items, for example for overhead or contingency. Adjustments add up, they do not compound. The total is shown before tax.
Budget details
Each budget has a name, a description and a price reference date. Changing the currency does not convert prices already entered. Duplicate a budget to compare options.
